我叫李秀琴，今年58岁。我已经退休很多年了。 Wǒ jiào Lǐ Xiùqín, jīnnián wǔshíbā suì. Wǒ yǐjīng tuìxiū hěn duō nián le. My name is Li Xiuqin, 58 years old. I have been retired for many years now.
我的一天大概是这样的：我早上很早去菜市场买菜。回来后做早饭。 Wǒ de yì tiān dàgài shì zhèyàng de: wǒ zǎoshang hěn zǎo qù càishìchǎng mǎi cài. Huílái hòu zuò zǎofàn. A day for me is roughly like this: very early in the morning I go to the market to buy food. After I get back I make breakfast.
家里有五个人：我、我的丈夫、我 的儿子和他的妻子、还有我的小孙子， 他只有三岁。 Jiālǐ yǒu wǔ gè rén: wǒ, wǒ de zhàngfu, wǒ de érzi hé tā de qīzi, háiyǒu wǒ de xiǎo sūnzi, tā zhǐ yǒu sān suì. There are five people in the home: me, my husband, my son and his wife; and, also my little grandson, he is only three years old.
我儿子和他妻子很忙，每天都要工作。所以，他们去上班 之后我要照顾小孩。我经常带他去公园玩。孩子很调皮， 喜欢跑来跑去。我老了，有时候 觉得照顾他很累，但是我还是觉得 和小孙子玩很幸福。 Wǒ érzi hé tā qīzi hěn máng, měitiān dōu yào gōngzuò. Suǒyǐ, tāmen qù shàngbān zhīhòu wǒ yào zhàogù xiǎoháir. Wǒ jīngcháng dài tā qù gōngyuán wánr. Háizi hěn tiáopí, xǐhuān pǎolái-pǎoqù. Wǒ lǎo le, yǒu shíhòu juéde zhàogù tā hěn lèi, dànshì wǒ háishì juéde hé xiǎo sūnzi wánr hěn xìngfú. My son and his wife are very busy, they have to go to work every day. So after they go to work I have to take care of the child. I often take him to the park to play. He is very naughty, always running here and there. I’m old now, I sometimes feel looking after him is really tiring, but I still feel really happy playing with my little grandson.
回来后我做午饭。吃完饭我一般会睡一会儿。 Huílái hòu wǒ zuò wǔfàn. Chīwán fàn wǒ yìbān huì shuì yì huǐr. After getting back I make lunch. After finishing eating I normally sleep for a little while.
我的丈夫也退休了。他喜欢玩股票。他每天都和他 的朋友聊股票。去年他赚了很多钱，但是后来全部都赔了！ Wǒ de zhàngfu yě tuìxiū le. Tā xǐhuān wánr gǔpiào. Tā měitiān dōu hé tā de péngyou liáo gǔpiào. Qùnián tā zhuànle hěn duō qián, dànshì hòulái quánbù dōu péi le! My husband is also retired. He likes to play around with stocks and shares. Every day he chats with his friends about stocks. Last year he made a lot of money, but later lost it all!
晚上孩子的爸爸妈妈回家。 Wǎnshang háizi de bàba māma huí jiā. In the evening the little one’s mum and dad come home.
吃完晚饭以后 我经常去跳舞。这种舞蹈叫“广场舞”。很多人晚上来到广场，大部分是女的， 年纪比较大的。有人放音乐，然后 我们都开始跳舞。我喜欢“广场舞”，可以跳舞，也可以交新朋友。 Chīwán wǎnfàn yǐhòu wǒ jīngcháng qù tiàowǔ. Zhè zhǒng wǔdǎo jiào “guǎngchǎngwǔ”. Hěn duō rén wǎnshang lái dào guǎngchǎng, dà bùfèn shì nǚ de, niánjì bǐjiào dà de. Yǒu rén fàng yīnyuè, ránhòu wǒmen dōu kāishǐ tiàowǔ. Wǒ xǐhuān “guǎngchǎngwǔ”, kěyǐ tiàowǔ, yě kěyǐ jiāo xīn péngyou. After dinner I often go dancing. This kind of dancing is called “square dancing”. In the evening many people come to the square – they are mostly women of a certain age. Someone starts playing music and we all start dancing. I like “square dancing” – you can dance and also make new friends.
结束以后，我回家准备睡觉。我九点半左右就睡了。 Jiéshù yǐhòu, wǒ huí jiā zhǔnbèi shuìjiào. Wǒ jiǔ diǎn bàn zuǒyòu jiù shuì le. After it finishes I go home and get ready for bed. I go to bed around half past nine.
我的生活大概就是这样的。 Wǒ de shēnghuó dàgài jiùshì zhèyàng de. My life is something like this.
