我是一个滴滴司机。滴滴出行是一个约车的手机应用。以前和优步有竞争，但后来优步退出中国市场。现在类似这样的服务差不多只有滴滴。 Wǒ shì yí gè Dīdī sījī. Dīdī Chūxíng shì yí gè yuēchē de shǒujī yìngyòng. Didi Chuxing is a ride-hailing mobile app. It previously was in competition with Uber, but Uber later quit the Chinese market. Now, for this kind of service there is basically only Didi.
我原来在一个广告公司工作。工资不是很高，所以想赚点外快。有一次打滴滴的时候跟司机聊天，就感觉做这个会很方便。我因为工作已经有一辆车了，所以做个滴滴司机不需要任何的投资。 Wǒ yuánlái zài yí gè guǎnggào gōngsī gōngzuò. Gōngzī bú shì hěn gāo, suǒyǐ xiǎng zhuàn diǎnr wàikuài. I originally was working in an advertising company. The salary wasn’t very high, so I wanted to earn a bit extra on the side. One time when taking a Didi I was chatting with the driver. I felt doing this would be very convenient. I already had a car because of my job, so being a Didi driver didn’t need any investment.

I remember when picking up my first passenger I was really nervous. I drove really carefully, afraid of something going wrong, but later I got used to it.

Xiànzài xiǎng, nèi shíhou tǐng xīnkǔ de. After dinner I’d go out on the road. I’d take orders until twelve o’clock, then go back home and sleep. The following day I’d then get up and go to work. Thinking back now, that time was very tough.

After being a Didi driver for a while, I started to think doing this was better than sitting in an office, and so I decided to quit my job and focus on driving.

I think my current life is pretty good. When I want to work I can work, when I want to rest I can rest. I can organise my own time.
不好的一面是收入不是很稳定。有时候赚挺多，有时候赚很少。 Bù hǎo de yí miàn shì shōurù bú shì hěn wěndìng. Yǒu shíhou zhuàn tǐng duō, yǒu shíhou zhuàn hěn shǎo. The downside is that earnings aren’t very stable. Sometimes I earn quite a lot, and sometimes earn very little.
而且，有时候会遇到不好的乘客。比如喝醉的，或者很不礼貌的。 Érqiě, yǒu shíhou huì yùdào bù hǎo de chéngkè. Bǐrú hēzuì de, huòzhě hěn bù lǐmào de. Also, sometimes I come across bad passengers. For example drunk people, or people who are very rude.

上次有一个人在车上吃麦当劳，走的时候没带垃圾，给他差评感觉挺爽！ Shàng cì yǒu yí gè rén zài chē shang chī Màidāngláo, zǒu de shíhou méi dài lājī, gěi tā chàpíng gǎnjué tǐng shuǎng! Last time, somebody ate McDonald’s in the car, and when leaving he didn’t take his rubbish. Giving him a bad review felt pretty good!
